French Dips

My family loves french dips. This recipe is super easy and very filling. It sounds like my friend B also makes a mean french dip...I might have to check her's out...

Ingredients:
Roast beef - shredded
Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing
Kraft Swiss Cheese slices
Sara Lee Hard French Rolls
McCormick Au Jus packet mix

Directions:
(1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees
(2) Slice rolls - but not completely. Leave a "hinge" on the rolls. This will help prevent the meat from falling out.
(3) Open roll and place a thick layer of shredded roast beef directly onto bun.
(4) Sprinkle a generous amount (approx. 2-3 Tbsp.) of Zesty Italian Dressing onto meat.
(5) Fold one slice of Swiss cheese in half. Place both halves over dressing layer.
(6) Putting the sandwich together seal in aluminum foil.
(7) Bake for 20 minutes.
(8) While baking prepare Au Jus sauce as directed on packet.

  1. Sounds like we've been on the same wave length this week with our roast beef and french dip sandwiches! :)

  2. @Beth-it's been one of those weeks where I didn't want to think about meals too much. As you know a good roast can go a long way. I'm going to have to try your version too - it looked good.
